+- **The workspace file tree now shows symlinks with a distinct chain-link icon (#4226).** Symbolic links (both directory and file symlinks) render with a chain-link icon instead of the regular file/folder icon, and hovering a symlink shows "Symlink → {target}" with long targets middle-elided. Directory symlinks still expand and navigate like folders; regular files and folders are unchanged. The symlink target is the server-resolved path (already filtered to in-workspace targets by the existing workspace trust boundary) and is rendered via the DOM `title` property — never an HTML sink — so an arbitrary symlink target cannot inject markup.
